Samito is a Montreal-based singer - songwriter and producer whose music juxtaposes afro and electronica.The result is a "rage" of fast beats and heavily processed bass sounds in part inspired by his upbringing in Maputo, Mozambique.
In 2016 Samito made his first mark with his hit “Tiku La Hina” on Costume Records.This record was streamed and played around the world propelling him into the global club scene and countless live stages including SXSW, Osheaga, Reeperbahn and the Montréal Jazz Festival.2016 also saw the release of “Cem Cem (feat.Mabika & Muneshine)” on French fashion + music Label Kitsuné, followed by "I Saw You", a 2017 trans world Afro house and electro inspired club tune released in collaboration with German music label Man Recordings.
His first solo album "Samito" was awarded with the 2017 Félix Award for World Music Album Of The Year at Québec’s Gala De L’ADISQ.Samito is also Radio Canada's 2015-2016 Revelation for the World Music category.
